Black Girls Code Fundraiser Bingo

Update: Thanks to everyone for participating! We are glad to announce that the charity bingo raised £451 in total, making it a huge success.

DUCS and WiSTEM are pleased to present a fundraiser for Black Girls Code - join in for a fun BINGO night! Black Girls Code is a non-profit organization that offers support for African-American girls. The company offers varied workshops and programmes to help youth develop computing-related skills and aims for its attendees to occupy the growing STEM industry in the USA.

We stand and support the Black Lives Matter movement. We are aware of the shocking events taking place in the USA; however, racism is an often ignored issue and the UK should not be overlooked. We firmly believe racism has no place in the 21st century.  

Additionally in collaboration with the WISTEM society, we want to address the underrepresentation of women and the black community in the STEM industry. To approach the matter in an informative way, a few great speakers will be joining us. Keep an eye for updates to learn more!  

On the night, expect adorable and factual bingo cards and talks from fantastic black women in STEM, as well as the charity themselves!   This event is not only for members of DUCS or WIS as we want everyone to be involved for such a great cause - so tell your family and friends to get their bingo game on and buy some cards now!

To claim your bingo tickets, all you need to do is donate to the Black Girls Code PayPal and send us the screenshot as proof in the registration form! We will then email you the cards.   

Ticket prices are as follows:  £3 for one ticket. £7 for three tickets.
